Community Policing
The Police are making themselves more prominent in the area. The new Inspector is very keen on grass roots policing.
PCSO 6098 Lesley Richards has joined the team and replaces PCSO Matt Harburt.
The priorities for November continue to be drug supply issues within the beat area and to reduce the number of burglaries and vehicle crime across Syston, Queniborough and Thurmaston.

Preferred Option Consultation on the Draft Charnwood Local Plan 2019-36
Charnwood Borough Council is currently preparing a new Local Plan. Once adopted this framework will set the planning framework for Charnwood up to 2036.
This is open to consultation from Monday 4th November to Monday 16th December at 5.00 pm.

Notice of Pre-submission Consultion for Neighbourhood Plan
A pre-submission consultation on the proposed Neighbourhood Plan for Queniborough Parish will take place for six weeks, starting from:
Monday 28th October through to Monday 9th December 2019
The Draft Neighbourhood Plan is the result of consultation with the Community, and interest groups and detailed work by Queniborough Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group over the last 3 years.

Charnwood's "Big Switch" offers energy bills savings
Residents in Charnwood are being offered the chance to sign up to the 'Big Switch' with the possibility of saving more than £240 a year on energy bills.
The borough council has launched the Charnwood Big Switch, a collective switching scheme to help residents change energy suppliers with ease and get a better deal.

draft Public Spaces Protection Order 2020
- The Notice and the Draft Order were approved at Cabinet on July 4th 2019. These documents were then checked by legal and are now ready for distribution/publication.
- The Street Wardens have been putting up notices at any new areas/locations to the PSPO today (August 6th)

Advance Notice of temporary road closure on Fosse Road, Syston
Leicestershire County Council Highways has agreed to a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order at the above location.
A temporary road closure is required on Fosse Way, Glebe Way, High Street, Wanlip Road on 23rd August 2019 for 1 day.
Fosse Way will be closed between the A607 and Melton Road.
When Required, Glebe Way, High Street and Wanlip Road will be closed at their junctions with Fosse Way.
