Hedges and trees overhanging the pavements
The Council does receive inquiries from village residents who are inconvenienced by hedges and trees from private gardens overhanging the pavement causing obstructions especially to people with baby buggies or in mobility scooters or wheelchairs. The Council asks all residents to please check their hedges are not blocking the pavement and trim them back if they are. The Parish Council can report cases to the Highways Department, who can enforce a request to cut back a hedge or tree blocking the pavement, but this is should not be necessary if hedges are kept trimmed back from the path to ensure they do not cause an obstruction.
