Work starts on new play equipment

Work has now started on the installation of new play equipment on King George V playing fields. The Neighbourhood plan consultation asked for more facilities for older children in the village. The items were chosen after consultation with children at the school and the cubs.

The new installation will be for older children and will include a double zip wire, a 'pick up sticks' climbing frame, and a birds nest swing. An illustration of the equipment can be seen on the link below.

The installation will take about a week. The equipment will not be able to be used until the restrictions on the use of play equipment has been lifted by the Government but will be ready for when this happens.

The Council is still looking at further play facilities at the park, including the possibility of a small skate/scooter park.
