The planning application from Hallam Homes (P/18/0611/2 for 220 houses on Melton Road) has been turned down by Charnwood Borough Council's Planning deptartment.

The planning application for 150 houses on Barkby Road went to Charnwood BC's Planning Committee on Thursday, 31st May. The Planning Officers recommended that the Committee refuse planning permission.

The Council does receive inquiries from village residents who are inconvenienced by hedges and trees from private gardens overhanging the pavement causing obstructions especially to people with baby buggies or in mobility scooters or wheelchairs. The Council asks all residents to please check their hedges are not blocking the pavement and trim them back if they are. The Parish Council can report cases... Read More »

Over the next few weeks parts of Queniborough will be having increased monitoring from Charnwood Borough Council as part of their 'Don't Muck About' campaign. This campaign seeks to improve cleanliness and reduce litter in the borough. Queniborough will be checked for those areas where dog owners are still not picking up after their dog.

Charnwood Borough Council are consulting on new Dog Protection Public Spaces Protection Orders which will affect all parks and cemeteries in Charnwood.
The Orders will make it a requirement:
1. all dogs must be kept on a lead in cemeteries
2. all dogs are excluded from fenced play areas
3. all dog faeces should be removed from any open space
